Elevated Pink Line clears its safety inspection
The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety has finished a three-day inspection of the elevated part of the Pink Line, a 7.5 km stretch from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere with six stations, including Hulimavu, IIM-B, JP Nagar 4th Phase and Jayadeva Hospital. This is the last statutory step before passenger services, and BMRCL can open the section once it meets the inspector's conditions. For buyers along Bannerghatta Road and the Hulimavu side, it means a direct metro link is close, and it adds to the case for the southern pockets that connect to it.

PRR-2 notification: a reminder for plot buyers
The BDA issued the final land notification for Peripheral Ring Road 2 on September 3, 2026, covering about 1,427 acres across 31 villages. Reports say plots in two approved layouts near Kaggalipura, off Kanakapura Road, fall on the alignment, even though the owners had checked the layout approvals and RERA registration before buying. The BDA says it plans to offer compensation options similar to PRR-1, such as cash, TDR and developed plots, subject to government approval.

Work starts on the Sadahalli underpass on the airport road
NHAI has begun building a 750 metre, six-lane underpass at Sadahalli Junction on Ballari Road, removing the last traffic signal on the main road to Kempegowda International Airport. It is expected to be ready by mid-2027, and the work will be done in phases to keep traffic moving. For people living in or buying around Devanahalli and the airport belt, it should mean a smoother, signal-free drive to the city.

New apartment law awaits the Governor's assent
The Karnataka Apartment Ownership and Management Bill, 2026, has been passed by the legislature and is now waiting for the Governor's assent. Supporters say it will clearly define owners' shares in the land and common areas and give owners' associations a firm legal footing to manage and collect maintenance. Some home buyer groups say it should also spell out how common areas are transferred to associations, as RERA already requires. If you are buying a flat, it is worth asking the builder when the common areas will be handed to the association.

Large office lease at Bellandur on the Outer Ring Road
Blackstone's centre of excellence has leased about 4.5 lakh sq.ft across 10 floors at Prestige Lakeshore Drive, an IT campus beside Bellandur Lake, for five years. Reports also note that Bengaluru remains the leading city for global capability centres so far this year. Steady office demand on the Outer Ring Road supports housing in the areas a short drive away, such as Sarjapur Road and Panathur.
